Sissel Edelbo - Hedvig Jacket - No. 49
Sissel Edelbo - Hedvig Jacket - No. 49
Hedvig Kantha Suzani Jacket is a loose fit jacket upcycled from a kantha blanket, beautifully decorated with colourful suzani embroidery.
The jacket is made with a delicate shawl collar and has dropped shoulders and wrist length sleeves. The jacket has pockets at front and comes with a detachable belt for a more feminine shape. All seams and edges are covered by striped cotton tapes.
This Suzani jacket is famous for being full of beautiful colours – and the embroidery is done by hand. Created by Indian artisan using the tambour to create a unique and vivid Suzani embroidery pattern, the name “Suzani” comes from the Persian word "su-zan," meaning needle. The Indian artisans use a hooked needle instrument called a tambour to create the intricate chain stitching that is the hallmark of Suzani embroidery. When buying our Suzani embroidered styles, you are supporting local artisans and traditional Indian handcraft.
Each jacket is unique due to the nature of it's production:-)
